Unexpected Velociraptors
Jan. 10th, 2008 09:47 amSo, I was playing Guild Wars (which is awesome awesome awesome and you should come play it with me, for free, no less). I had just fought my way into an area I had never been before, and I saw a orderly formation of red dots speeding towards me on my mini-map. I tried to get out of the way, but my party was quickly set upon and torn limb from limb (perhaps not literally) by a pack of velociraptors. I
I've been playing this series for two years. There has never been any hints whatsoever that the game might contain velociraptors. They just came up out of nowhere and bam, dead party. I woke the rest of the house up I was laughing so hard.
Recounting the event to my guildmates, when I said "I wasn't expecting velociraptors, the immediate reply (and I forget now who said it) was "No one expects the velociraptors. I think s/he is probably right. On a neat side note, the raptors are blue, have feathers, and when they die they curl up in the dinosaur "death pose" in which most complete skeletons are found. Just thought that was neat. Also, they are entirely too fast.
