Possibly I am an enormous dork. Possibly.

I was failing at giving Kon random farm chores, so I made the Kents an actual truck patch. It's helping me IMMENSELY. Also, it wasn't color coded until T decided we were going to color yesterday afternoon, and it was either this or princesses.

Kent farm > princesses

That is all.

I'd love to see a bit bigger version of this image--I can't *quite* read some of the lettering, such as the smaller sections in the middle. And is the one in the upper right lettered "tornado damage"?

(I find this interesting because my grandfather was a farmer who grew hybrid seed corn until about five years ago, when age and the ever-shrinking available farmland forced him to retire; the farm was sold for redevelopment *right* before the local economy collapsed.)

I think what you're asking about is the patch of overwinter turnips Kon's pulling to sell for cow feed, so that they can plant corn there. The carrots are probably the hardest part to read. They're the little orange rows.

My family farms. Not my parents, but my grandparents did, and my uncles. My farm-chore experience doesn't do as much good for Kon as it probably should, though, since I doubt very much he's being sent out to pick okra (I live in southern Louisiana) and Ma Kent probably doesn't grow thousands of pounds of sweet potatoes every year.

Also, I bet Kon has never thought "keep your brassicas together!" as opposed to "Ma says the cabbage goes next to the brocolli."
