Dick and/or Tim please just because I can

1. I believe very firmly one piece of Devin Grayson's personal canon - that as a teenager unsure of his place in Bruce's life, Dick made a pass at Bruce and was immediately shot down - only she thinks it happened on a birthday, when he was wondering what "ward" would mean for them when he turned 18, and I think it happened the night Bruce fired him.

2. When Dick lived alone, he knew Babs had cameras in his home and consciously put on a good show for her. He doesn't ever consciously acknowledge that Bruce probably had cameras in his home, too.

3. Dick is the most desperately, pathologically unhappy member of the Bat family, even including Tim, and he doesn't even know it.

And these all came back to Bruce, but that's because everything about Dick always comes back to Bruce.

M (who is a DDR nut) has just reminded me of something from my personal canon which should absolutely made it onto this list:

4. Dick kills at Dance Dance Revolution. He doesn't have the home game - he only plays in arcades, and only when people are watching. He always starts off slow and lets himself attract a little crowd before he busts out the crazy backward moves. When the set is over, he backflips off the platform, takes a bow, and then disappears into the mall.

Once, when Lian was watching, he did it on his hands. His score sucked, but it was worth it.

Tim

1. Tim is crazy. He's seriously fucked in the head. Eventually I'll post all the scans I've collected to prove this. Red Robin thrills me in all kinds of BadWrong ways, because it's absolutely proving me right.

2. Bruce became Batman because he loved his parents. Tim became Robin because he hated his. He didn't know that about himself. At the time.

3. Tim cheats - emotionally, at the least. He doesn't even consider it cheating - he just compartmentalizes. He cheated on Ariana with Steph, because Tim was dating Ariana and Robin was falling for Spoiler. Anything that happens at the Titans Tower is separate from his Gotham relationships, and anything that happens in the Manor stays in the Manor. He has no tension about it whatsoever.

Thank you for both of these. The compartmentising is an interesting part about the whole secret identity thing I think - maybe it's one way of 'coping' with it. Separating one from the other but it backfires big time with crap like this.
