Heads up - Backstory for "keyholes"

I'm about to post a story. Because most of my fandomy friends are not big comics fans, I'm posting a brief (as possible) explaination of who the players are and what's going on at the time of the story, in case anyone unfamiliar with the Robin comics wants to read it.
Robin: Tim (not Timmy) Drake, the third to bear the name, is incredibly intellegent, was trained by some of the world's top martial artists, and...has some slight (!) undefined emotional problems. Eventually, there will be a Crazy!Timmy post, with reference scans, because I've been collecting all his craziest crazy moments in an effort toamuse myself figure him out. For now, just know he stalked Batman and Robin (Dick, until he left, and then Jason, until he died), and basically took the job to keep Batman from going crazy, because he believes Batman needs a Robin to stay sane. His parents were ridiculously negligent. His mother died when he was 13, and his father was put in a coma, from which he recovered 6 months later. During that time, he lived at the manor with Bruce (who was his neighbor).
His dad: Jack Drake remarried, to his much younger physical therapist, and went on happily ignoring his son until they lost all their money and moved into a much smaller house. Somehow he started to notice that, um, Tim lies. A lot. So he ransacked his room for drugs, and found Robin's spare uniform and 'war journals' (which totally would have been encrypted on Tim's computer but whatever). He reacts as described in the story, with threats, blackmail, and forcing Tim to quit and cut off all contact.
Bernard: Bernard Dowd is Tim's outrageously fabulous friend at Grieve Memorial High School. He is outrageous and fabulous, and the writers need to bring him back. Also, he is nosey as all hell, and has crazy theories about Gotham's resident vigilantes (like Batman keeps secret orphanages to train Robins, because he needs a constant supply, as they have a life expectancy of a few days). He also believes that Tim has completely made up...
The Girlfriend: Stephanie Brown, The Spoiler, daughter of the Cluemaster and Robin's Robin, right up until Tim quits and she becomes the actual Robin, until she is fired for reminding Bruce of Jason. She's mad at Tim at the time, and not taking his calls, because she came to see him and saw him kissing...
The mob daughter: Darla Aquista, who has a crush on Tim, is the target of a massed attack at Grieve Memorial when a huge gang war (which Steph inadvertantly started) breaks out in the city. At least five different gangs infiltrate the school, looking for her. Tim is not Robin, but he saves the day anyway. However, he couldn't save Darla. The gangs are eventually routed by the rest of the Batfamily, including...
Nightwing: Dick Grayson, the former Boy Wonder, and Timmy's idol, mentor, big-brother, crush, stalking victim, etc. Also, a Totally Hot Guy (as Bernard will tell you).
Also staring Kon-el, aka Superboy, who is Tim's best friend and who has known him since Tim was 13. They were in Young Justice together. Robin didn't tell YJ his name until late in the series. Tim and Kon are Titans, now (which means Tim's been running off to San Fransisco every weekend without his Dad knowing where he is), and when Robin didn't show up, Kon took off to Gotham to find him (by sitting on gargoyles all night listening for his voice) and break into his bedroom, from which, as he will tell you in the story, he had to flee when Tim's dad arrived.
"Playing baseball with Doiby" and "getting our asses kicked by Granny fucking Goodness" refer to evens in Young Justice, when Tim was 14 and hoping around the galaxy with YJ saving planets and fighting in other people's wars. It's never been explained just where Tim's dad thought he was. Because Tim's dad sucks.
I think that should do it?
Also, look! I made an xmas icon! The cutest xmas icon ever! His widdle hat! His widdle tongue!

Date: 2008-12-10 10:45 pm (UTC)Did you hear that DC is apparently stopping Robin and Nightwing? I was really pissed to hear that, as they are the only ones I really wanted to collect. *Sulks

Date: 2008-12-11 12:22 am (UTC)My real fear, though, because they're sweeping Nightwing, Robin, and Birds of Prey, is that something AWFUL is about to happen. Something worse then the utter destruction of Bludhaven and the deaths of everyone Robin has ever loved (okay, not really, but it was kind of close there for a while).
