I'm feeling rather better now than I was when I posted this morning. I took a nap, went back to work for the afternoon (my weekday schedule is a split), and then after work I spent a few hours doing some much needed cleaning and organizing. Sorry for dropping an emo bomb on your heads - I figured if I was going to do it I ought to to at least keep it nice and brief. Long story short, I think I am going to start looking for a different job.

I just got notification of a comment informing me that my story Close to Home has been submitted for the monthly rec contest-thing on The Readers Have Chosen. They apparently vote every month on stories from several fandoms submitted by members, and the one voted best goes up on the main page. As far as I can tell, anyone can join. but you do have to join to vote. This month's poll pits my fic against two Supernatural and two Merlin fics. I'm pleased, of course, but I'm also aware that both of those fandoms are rather larger than DC. ^_^; I'm curious about who nominated me, and whether it was someone I know or just a reader who enjoyed the story *that* much.
