Game demo ramblings
Sep. 16th, 2009 08:10 pmI played the demo for the new Batman game this morning, and HOMG I can't afford to blow 60 bucks on a game but I WANT TO.
Though I've been told it's short. I'll probably rent it.
I am such a ridiculously fangirlly fangirl. The first time Bruce put a finger to his ear and said "Oracle, come in," I made noises only the dogs could hear, because !!! yay for comics canon! Not long after that, though, I was complaining that Zsasz was ALL WRONG. Zsasz doesn't take hostages and strap them into electroshock chairs! He slits people's throats, poses them in a lifelike position, and then tells you he has a hostage (while wearing nothing but a top hat, his tally marks, and a creepy smile)!
The game is very much a cross between Batman: The Last Arkham (the vent crawling especially - it even looks like the book) and Arkham Asylum: A Serious House On Serious Earth, which has pretty much exactly the same plot as the game. The voices are great, and the Joker's dialog is awsome, but I hate the Naughty Nurse outfit Harley apparently bought at Hot Topic. >.< I want the floppy jester hat! But her voice is HER VOICE and that kinda makes up for it.
Here's hoping this game is an enormous success, and they make another one set during No Man's Land. That story has the perfect set-up for a video game.
