Spent the weekend at the camp getting it ready for our family reunion next weekend. Worked really hard in the hot sun and got a lot done. We decided to go for a short boat ride (mostly so that I could take some pictures for a painting I'm working on), and boom, as soon as I take my sandlas off, I get bit by a deerfly at least once on each foot. 

I am very allergic to deerflies. Not deathly allergic, but I'm sore and headachy and nauseus and everything below my mid-thighs looks like my body was made out of pink marshmallows. We didn't even have any antihistamines at the camp, just a tube of benadryll that expired in 1999. I'm home now, and very groggy from the antihistamines. But, we got a lot done. 

Macie tried enthusiastically to drown herself, as per her usual. She looks about how I feel. I swear she would fetch until she died, if we let her.
