hell week is finally over!
Oct. 18th, 2008 10:39 pmI had my last midterm this morning. Then I went home and made bento for three, and headed to P & M's to rig their stairwell as a haunted house (the goal if which is ultimately to make the kids who live next door piss their pants). We hit three different Halloween stores, and had a great time, all around. I haven't done much for Halloween in a long time, and I'd forgotten how much I liked playing around in the bins of severed body parts, and such. M has rigged herself a sort of gothic lolita kimono/skirt set, which I liked, though the three of us will be dressed in theme for the actual haunted house poriton of the holiday. The theme, as M keeps telling people with great relish (and no pun intended there), is "dismemberment." I'm not sure I want to know why P had two machettes and a chainsaw in his bedroom, but we're making use of them.
Our bento had edamame, tamagoyaki, rice with sesame furikake and green onion furikake, carrot+cumin dip, wasabi+pea dip, whole wheat crackers, satsumas and lady apples. I was quite proud of it - but I forgot to take a picture. It was so cute and colorful!
We watched the first disk of Gurren Lagaan during dinner, which I thought was kind of funny and interesting. I doubt I'll be fangirling it madly, but it was entertaining.
Tomorrow will be for chores (I despirately need to do laundry) and hopefully either the finishing of a rough of the HP/Batman thing or the polishing and posting of the first half. Depends on my mood, probably. Also, I'm going back to the farmers market for some more of those satsumas, because Oh My God (there are times when I truely do love living where live, and with 5 for a dollar fresh local satsumas so tender and sweet and juicy that the sections burst on your tongue, right now is one of those times.)
And finally, before I go to bed (because I am exhausted now), I want to share this song, because I heard it for the first time tonight while I was driving home, and it made me grin the whole way home (I liked the radio version better, but this live version was all I could find online)
