Invisible Bruises!
Sep. 10th, 2009 11:08 amSo, the party was a success, except for the part where I fell down a flight of stairs on Sunday and was unable to participate in most of the water sports activities (in my defense, it was wet, and I was wearing shoes. It is my expert stair-tumbling opinion that shoes and stairs do not mix) . But we got M onto Big Mabel and actually into open water at Lake Maurepas, which makes me quite proud of her, especially as we had seen an alligator not twenty minutes before (to be fair, the alligator was all of a foot long, so she was excited and making "Cute!" noises rather than being terrified).
I banged my wrist up pretty bad, which I discovered the hard way made typing a pretty horrible experience, so I took a break from it. I'm mostly healed up, now. It's kind of funny...I don't visibly bruise (at all), so no one (my parents in particular) seemed to realize quite how banged up I was (there was enough swelling that I was having nervous issues in my hand) , but now that the (somehow invisible) hemoglobin is breaking up and my whole arm is turning yellow, it's become a little more obvious and people are suddenly asking me what happened.
L and his boyfriend were probably about ten feet ahead of me when I fell, but didn't hear the loud repeated thumps over the rain. By the time I made it inside, L was a little furious at me for not shouting or something, but I've really never made any noise when I'm in distress. I've been told I'm eerie on rollercoasters.
Anyway, I'm at the library now, and I've finally finished my draft of the Cass/Steph/Tim thing which still doesn't have a name (I SUCK AT NAMES), and I'm hoping to get it typed up and maybe even posted today. I do have to go home after work and walk the dogs, though, since M has a work thing and P has class.
