They almost called it off - there was a shooting on the campus of a technical college two miles away this morning that left 2 dead and four wounded. As it was, they moved things into the auditorium instead of holding the meeting out by the fountain, of which I am actually glad.
He was so cool. My Uncle Buddy, who lives in Little Rock and is in charge of finances for the U of Arkansas, knows him personally and has told me so many stories about him, and he behaved exactly as I was told he would. He was half an hour late because he was shaking hands and chatting in the parking lot and the halls, and then after his speech, he shook hands and shook hands and shook hands, and when the secret service agents tried to hustle him out the door, he said "Wait a minute, I'm not done yet!" and kept shaking hands. Someone gave him 3 pairs of Mardi Gras beads (red, white, and blue) and he wore them out.
Our primary is tomorrow, and I am so totally psyched. I was leaning to Clinton over Obama for her green energy incentives, health care, and her economic package (most of which is actually John Edwards package, which reinforces my believe that he's going to be the next VP).
