Party = Success

The Not Really Watching The Superbowl Party went well, and roughly as expected. B and P watched portions and managed to get excited about it, L and I talked about comic books and Firefly. The cake was a hit, as was the chili, and L and his boyfriend invited me out to Lafayette to go see Milk tonight (because it is not playing anywhere in Baton Rouge, because Baton Rouge hasn't gotten any decent movies since the old Siegan theater closed down.

Also as predicted, we ended up playing Rock Band for a while, and spent the whole third quarter playing DDR. Macie and Albert (Albert is B's dog) tried very hard to play with us. And were shouted at a lot.

Speaking of Macie - she's been back to the vet for an X-ray, and the Painful and Inexplicable leg/knee problem remains painful and Inexplicable. Her X-ray came up normal, so he's running other tests. We have no clue what she's done to herself... only that it apparently doesn't involve her joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles, or bones.  But she has new chew-bones, and she seems happy - when she's not limping.

Also, I had a brilliant, wonderful, geeky, fangirly brainwave, and now I have a band in Rock Band called the "Rockin' Robins," with Tim on bass, Jay on drums, and Steph and Dick trading out the mike and lead guitar. They're even wearing masks! Steph's is a purple domino, because for some reason the game does not come equipped with full-faced cowls. Also, I found the character creator severely lacking in the body-mod department, because I was unable to give Jay the Thighs of Cracking Skulls Like Walnuts, or Dick his Ass of Doom (though he does have a lovely wavy hairdo, the name of which is "pretty boy"). Jay and Steph got the Punk attitudes, Dick is a Rocker, and Tim is a little Goth boy. He stands there with his bass and looks epicly tragic at the camera. Just like in real life the comics, if Tim played bass!

Anyway, off to go see Milk.
