Big changes
I was chatting with someone last night and realized I hadn't made a post about this...
I'm moved into my new apartment (which is a total lemon. I've had to call maintenance over and over), but I'm already looking at another move... Across the country.
When I was out in California last year, visiting
kirax2 , I got a job offer in San Diego, which came with the offer of very reasonably priced living space. Just recently, I finally gave an official "yes". So, sometime this summer, probably at the end of June, I'm going to be packing up and moving all the way across the country, to a city I've visited twice, over a thousand miles from my family and the place I've lived me whole life.
I'm excited as all hell, and I keep having panic attacks and crazy mood swings (sorry,
faile_neume ) and this is the biggest thing I've ever done. I haven't told my family I took the job. I think I'm going to do it on Friday, and that's giving me a whole 'nother set of issues.
I want to keysmash forever. That's not very productive, though.
On the plus side, this means I'll be 1.3 miles from Comicon. Not that I have tickets or anything, because I'm afraid to spend a discretionary cent because this move is going to be expensive, and I'll be paying double rent for a few months, too.
I keep deleting keysmashes. My head is about to explode.

I always feel like I could come to - okay, yes, probably I shouldn't turn this into a dirty joke. I'll just say I love you and leave it at that. <3

But yeahhh calicali baby. We don't have swamps or gators or nothin but I think it's pretty swell. Hope everything works out smoothly for you!

I do like swamps, except for the hot and humid part, and the bugs. Won't miss the bugs. Or the climate. And the alligators tried to eat my dog, so...

As a note: I work for a Realtor - if your apartment is really that bad you might be able to use that to break the lease and not have to pay double rent. You might want to check that out. :)
Good Luck!

The main problem with that is, I have a roommate. She'll be staying here. Though I've definitely been thinking about that.

Good luck with telling your family. I'm sure they'll be sad to see you go, but hopefully they'll also be happy that you're taking this opportunity and adventure. And if nothing else, remind them that now they have an excuse to go visit Southern Cali, which is beautiful and a very unique culture!

I'll keep my fingers crossed, however, that your parents can see past that to what an amazing opportunity this is for you! Because, in the end, they should want what's best for you, despite their own reservations. ::fingers crossed::

I am nearly as excited about living near other fans as I am about the other parts of it! XD The only time I meet other fans without having to take a long trip is when someone decides to come down for mardi gras or something.

I live in Santa Monica, so that's a a bit of a drive depending on whereabouts in the greater San Diego area you're located. Some of my college roomies hail from there so we make trips back and forth every few weeks. Actually one of them was just sleeping on my couch this weekend. So yeah! After you move our paths could definitely be arranged to cross =)

Congratulations on your new job. :) As a San Diego native, if you have any questions about basically anything, let me know. San Diego is a GREAT city and there is TONS to do, if you get hooked in.
