First off, poor Martha. She's seen this sort of behaviour before, but it can't ever be easy.
Cross won me over in this chapter.
Jake was great, but Kon had Cassie.
This is possibly the best no-fanfare way of confirming a character as bisexual by how they think I've read in a long, long time.
The entire conversation with Tim! Conner's going to get a rep for making phone calls from the bathroom. And the shoutout to canon events with the garters had me laughing. The results of the tests, especially re: the strength of their killer was good. You really have a very solid mystery here, which I love. And the end... jealous Tim is jealous?
The lunch scene is awesome. There's so many parts of it that stand out to me. All the byplay with food, not just Jake and Lilah feeding Conner, but also people stealing off each other's plates! ♥ The thing about softball made me laugh, because there's an actual lesbian softball league in my city.
On the first read through, I didn't actually catch why Lilah's "family" make such a big deal about Carson. Yikes.
