I'm going to try replying to this again. Martha was responding to the fact she sensed something had happened that had made Kon uncomfortable with Tim. I don't think that's out of character at all. They've had all evening to talk about the murders - that conversation happened several hours later, and it was something she chose to talk to Kon about *alone* rather than in a group with Tim and Clark and Lois. And it is her business because she's effectively his mother figure.
And yes, Tim is manipulative in this fic. I did that on purpose. He actually didn't truly set out to be, though he was serving two, maybe three agendas at once, and two of those are, as he sees it, for the greater good.
The questions are unanswered for several reasons. a) I was writing this for a deadline and stopped here because the main plot was wrapped up, b) I have every intention of continuing this and resolving things eventually, c) I like ambiguous endings in my writing and my reading - sometimes things don't have to wrap up neatly and be handed to the reader on a silver platter.
All that said, my earlier comment stands. You've been leaving very negative feedback on my work and on kirax2's. I don't know if you realize you're being offensive - I hope you are just young or new to fandom, rather than deliberately trolling. While I welcome constructive criticism from other writers, I have a hard time accepting "this sucks" from an anonymous commenter who doesn't have anything good to say about a 17 chapter story they apparently spent a few hours reading - just rudely phrased complaints about the last chapter.
While I enjoy discussion, even with people I don't agree with, I don't think a discussion can take place when one of the parties is both anonymous and hostile.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is, if you can't say anything nice to mediate your rather harsh and insulting criticism, why bother saying anything at all. Surely you've got better things to do than waste your time with fic you don't seem to enjoy.
