I've had a dog do that - ate a Nepalese cookbook I got from my library. Since she's never touched any other book, I can only assume someone had spilled something yummy-smelling on one of the pages.

This is, while not a *completely* isolated incident, not part of a trend or anything. I'm more shocked than anything. I leave my bag on that table every day and they've never bothered it. They're actually pretty well trained.
